Swing arm help

i have a Z400j 4cyl.
im converting it into a bobber, so far so good, its gona be a mono shock, but im not sure what swingarms i can use etc?
other than the standars and weld and alter it into a mono which isnt too hard but if i can get one already to go then even better. lol.
dont spose any of you people can help me. thank you
oh and yes i tried two shocks side by side but that dindt work. looked good tho i must say

I have no knowledge of the 400 frames, but if you're going to go to the trouble of a monoshock set up, you might as well go with a newer aluminum swingarm. One possible stumbling block will be whether or not you need an offset sprocket, and if anyone makes on for the 400...

the fram is pretty much the same as the 500/550 i belive or one of the bigger models

What's the inside frame width at Tue swingarm pivot? Kz900-1000 frames are about 9.5" wide......

So that's approx 19mm narrower than the liter Kz. If you don't get any other responses here, cruise/search the projects section for swingarm widths on various builds. I can tell you a Triumph Speed Triple single sided swingarm is 285mm wide. Most guys here use swingarms that don't require frame widening. Perhaps the 650s have a narrower frame than the 900/1000s, and lots of guys mod them....Perhaps start looking there

i have managed to get a GPZ550 swingarm, the unitrak one for £25 needs a good clean and refurb but im sure it can be altered to how i want it. hehe. will pay for that friday when i get paid. lol. then its just a monoshock needed..
