Shinko 712 rear tire review

It was time to replace the rear ( worn out after less than 4000 miles) and since I have been using for the last couple of years, and really like them, Shinko Raven 009 on my sportbikes, I decided to try a Shinko 712 in 120/90/18 on my Z.
First thing, the PRICE, the Shinko is about 1/3 ($46 VS $125) the cost of the Metzeler.
I have put about 1000 miles so far on it and I love it, great traction, good look, easy to balance, very predictable and will certainly last a longer than the Lasertec.
All my 4 bikes ( 75 Z1b, 1999 bandit 1200, 2000 Kawasaki ZRX and 2001 Kawasaki ZX12R) are now on Shinko and I could not be happier with the quality/price ratio.

ive got a soft ass kenda on back of my 1327,hell of a burnout tire! :laugh:I have run kendas for a couple years now and for all the flak they get I ahve to say I am happy, pricewise they can't be beat, they look good, and for a daily driver they last long and grip great.
Still recovering, some days are better than others.

I am on my 2nd Kenda Challenger. About 300 miles now and looks great!! 9am53 is correct for a daily driver and price...$90 mounted and balanced from my local mechanic!! I ran Avon's on my last 1000 and the wore out quickly..around 4000 miles. Grippy tires, good in the rain, but can't find the size anymore.9am53 wrote:

I like my Kendas and agree with Plummen!!! It does get rather sticky(Challenger).
I may look into Shinko's when I need to replace these.
Have you ran them on a drag stip or know of anyone that has?
