Which would be the better brake caliper? That is my question. I have two stiles to choose from but do not know if one is better than the other. Any of you experts out there have experience with either one of these? Please don't tell me that I should get such & such caliper. These are the ones I have and I will use on or the other. Both of these are OE Kawasaki and are very close in design. One has two pistons of equal size and one has two pistons of different sizes. The one with the equal size pistons SEAMS to have a larger pad area. These are still both used By Kawasaki today but the one with the equal pistons is a bit more modern design.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that the advantage of the differential bore calipers is a more progressive feel at the lever.

do you have the master for these or are you going to use a kz style one?
i believe texas was right. the two different size one has a light touch for initial stopping and can really lock them up when needed.
either case i don't think your going to get your desired result with a stock master.

can't wait to see the end result mounted.
can we get a little sneak preview?

someday i will be able to afford my kz habit.

The Tokico is a bit lighter and a bit smaller, making it a little easier to make a mount for. There will be nothing matching in this set up. 1981 GPz1100 or (1991 KZ1000P)front forks (which ever will make mounting simpler. The forks are almost identical with the exception of the brake mounts.) 1979 KZ1300 front wheel. 1980 KZ1000ST front rotors. And lat but not least the calipers. I am leaning toward the Tokico 2008 EX650 calipers. I THINK that they might mount a bit easier because of the less metal in the lower mounting bracket. The mounting pattern and angles are identical in both caliper stiles. The 91 ZR750 caliper will interfere with the speedo cable considerably more and the cable will have to be changed for a longer one. On the Tokico caliper I might be able to use the stock speedo cable.

I am using an after-market master on the bike now with the 80s single piston caliper. The second generation, not the one that uses the round pads. I really have no complaint about the single piston calipers even though they take quite a squeeze to stop the bike, but they will be next to impossible to mount on the new 18" wheel with the larger 1000ST rotors.

All three are almost identical. The one I have on there single piston is 1450mm2. The dual equal piston caliper is 1415mm2 and the dual piston unequal piston is 1480mm2. For comparison the early Kawasaki single piston caliper (KZ900/1000)was 1135mm2
