Thanks for this informative site. I was wondering if anyone knew if a chrome chainguard from a 76 LTD900 will fit a plain KZ900, or if you knew a source for a chrome one to fit this bike? Also will Bridgestone Battlax BT45 work with tubes and is 100/90/ 19 as large of a tire that should be run on a stock front KZ wheel?

A tubeless tire can always be run with a tube, so a Battlax should work no sweat even if it is a tubeless design tire.

100/90/19 is what I am running on the front of my KZ750 which came stock with a 3.25-19 tire. I think that is the closest metric equivalent to that size. It works fine on mine.

As a humorous aside, I ran a 110-90-19 on the front once because that's the only one the bike shop had at the time.... mounted OK, seemed to fit but I heard a strange squealing as I got above 50 mph. As the tire expanded with speed, it was rubbing on the fender. I ended up slotting the fender mount holes to get more clearance and I ran the tire. Ran OK, looked funny because the front tire was as fat as the rear.....
