I've got 18" front and back with BT45s and am liking them a lot.
Only 1/2 a season so far, but no complaints.

Which bike did you put the 18" front on?
Some bikes don't react well to a smaller front wheel - it has the effect of decreasing the rake slightly and can make the bikes very nervous. The 1978 Z1R had an 18" front, and Kawasaki went back to a 19" front for 1980 to improve stability.
One of my Z1's came with an 18" front - I replaced the 18" with a 19" soon after getting the bike - I felt the bike was 'diving' into corners.

The rims are from a 78 kz1000 that was biult for endurance racing, and are going on my green bike witch started life as a 78 Z1R so Im used to the 18in front.(Dont worry I have the pieces to put it back to stock if I want.) Ill post some pics when I get my camera back.Should have tires tommorrow.
