1977 KZ1000 Front Sprocket was created by kawz1000
My 77 KZ1000 B1 LTD has a 15/33 sprocket set-up with a 630 chain. Does anyone know if a 16 tooth front sprocket will fit without changing out the chain? I am trying to get a better highway cruising RPM than my current 2.2/1 final drive ratio. I have noticed JT Sprockets web site says 15 tooth is the recommended front sprocket and you can only go down to a 32 tooth rear sprocket with a 630 chain. Has anyone found different results?
thanks

I run the same combination on my '77 and '78 also. I understand that a 16T front sprocket will lower your RPM by about 250 RPM at cruising speeds. I just ordered a 16T for my '78 from Z1 enterprises.
As far as the chain length, as long as your rear axle isn't all the way forward It should work. Worst cas you might have to add another link. Good luck.
