I have a frame with everything except engine and wiring harness not sure what else i may need to do as far as repairs, how easy or hard would it be to get this rebuilded and estimated cost

That depends on what you expect at the end of it all. You could probably pick up a used harness and used engine for a few hundred dollars. On the other hand, you could drop 8 or 10 thou on a full race engine.

TexasKZ is correct...and the least expensive route would have you doing the work yourself...when you start having others do the work for you is when costs can really mount. There are still a number of very reputable shops that will rebuild a KZ motor.

I rebuilt the top ends of both my KZ1000's and if you replace all the cam chain bits and adjusters, gaskets, rings, etc. you are looking at $500-700. Then there are the tools... :laugh:
