i used one of those on my old dragbike but i twin shocked it i took the lower single shock linkage mounts cut them off flush and then flipped them around to the top side and welded them in place where we figured the best place for shock or strut mounts should be. worked really good to just about a straight bolt in. not quite the same thing your looking to do but it defintly worked well for me. i gained about 2' inches in wheel base and could run a wider wheel than stock so it gave me really good contact area on my slick.

I use one on my 650, but my pivot shaft is different than yours I think.
