As the rebuild of my Z1000A is hopefully nearing its end (still having some problems removing a bolt in the engine), I am thinking about new tires.
The wheel rims are not standard: front is a Morad 2.50 x 18", rear is a Morad 4.25 x 17". The tires that are on there are Avon Azaro's in 110/80/ZR18 and 150/70/ZR17 (modern radials).
I remember reading somewhere a while ago that radials should never be used with inner tubes, due to some issue with rubbing of inner and outer tube, resulting in excessive heat buildup with dangerous consequences. Is this true?
With regards to tire choice: the Avons are ok, but I'd like to hear your experiences before I make my choice.
