..anybody know if this piece was proprietary or OEM from something else ? I could adapt or fab something if necessary, but if anybody knows a source that would be better. I only have about half of the original one, it is made from a white nylon/plastic material.

check ebay for older cr500 kx 500 ect...they may be close enough that you could tap new holes in the nylon...worth a peek.....try diff wording...swingarm protector....nylon chain guides....ect....good luck....

..and let us know what you find. I have a Calfab as well, and I have never had a protector on it - didn't know it took one, and I can't see any mounting holes for one. But this is on a KZ1000, so it may just be totally different.

You might be right about that! The hardware/mounting of the one that is on mine isn't exactly up to the standards of the rest of the swingarm. I'll update when I do something. I have one from a 500 interceptor that I may be able to use.
