KZ1300 front wheel info. was created by mjg15
I trying to fit a kz1300 front wheel onto a KZ1000"P" front end. The disc diam and spacing is correct. The axle diam is larger , and I don't have either speedo drive.

My questions are:

1.Is the speedo drive similar (other than axle size)?

2.Can the bearings be swapped ? I know that I could knock them out and see...just ran out of time today

It will be more trouble than it is worth. I have been messing with both wheels now for a year and gave up. I was trying the same thing but in reverse. I have a KZ1000P wheel that i was trying to put on a KZ1300.

I have the "P" wheel , but the hub section just looks TOO massive on the 550. The Rear wheel appears to be the same casting as the 550, but with a 2.5 rim width insted of 2.15..

If I was inclined to continue with trying which speedo drive would you reccommend ?

How do you plan to use the KZ1300 wheel on a 550 when the with of the wheel with brake discs is 5 1/2" and the with even between my GPz1100 front forks at that point is 5 9/16"
Even on my 1100 that would leave only 1/32" between the disc and the fork. How would plan on mounting the calligrapher for the new way oversized discs? I am attempting to mount a KZ1300 on my GPz1100 with custom discs and am having a hell of a time. First is the bearing to fork spacing than the 7 bolt brakehub. Than the odd disc diameter. Unless you are talking about a ZN1300 front wheel which is another critter all together and other problems arise all over again.

I'm putting the 1000P front end on the 550 and then the 1300 wheel on the 1000 front end. The 1000P and 1300 have the same disc spacing (130mm) and diam., which as you mention is quite a bit wider than the 550. I have the calipers for the 1000 also. The triples seem like they will bolt up nicely, but I cant be certain because I need outer races to actually fit them. I will also need to make stops if they do fit.

Thanks , I will. Now it's a more of a pile of parts from about 10 different models of bikes than a recognizable project. I think the real purpose of this project is to help clean-up the garage. MY theory being that if all the parts are bolted together and capable of rolling they will take up less space and be easier to move. Just may work !

Once I start making actual progress I'l put a thread in projects...the small KZ's could use a bit more representation !
