So the 82 kz1000 is weeping oil from the fork oil seals and I tear the forks down today to replace. When I get the forks apart, the teflon is smack worn off the upper and lower guide bushings. So I hoof it over to the local Kawi dealer and we go thru the microfiche. Wonder of wonders-the upper guide bushing is available for 12 pesadas a copy, but no mention of the lower even though I am holding it in my hand.We search several other sources-no lower guide bushing. My only thought is that Kawi realizes that if u wear out the lower bushing, you will soon wear out the lower fork tube and they are $416 dollars each. Holy Manuto. So I got worn out lower guide bushings and cant seem to find any. Any help from anyone on a source? Thanks much.bj

Try Racetech.com , they have lots of these parts, and their stuff is very good quality too.

Yeah, I think they were sold as part of a set by Mother Kaw (bundled with the inner fork tube, etc.)...you might be able to get help from a KZR member if you had the model of your bike posted (Kawasaki released 5 different KZ1000 models in 1982). If not, then you might be forced to gamble on eBay...where all things appear for sale, eventually.

according to serial number it is a Japanese built "K" model.I think same forks were used on both K and M models however. The forks are factory 38mm with a leading axle configuration- a cruiser bike set-up.Thanks for the assistance.bj
