Hey guys,

On my '78 KZ1000 Ltd, the center stand does not have some sort of stop that keeps it from retracting into the chain. The chain is adjusted properly. The PO had the stand off when I bought it- he just had the center stand, two bolts, and spring. What am I missing? I can't find a diagram and/or any good enough pics to see for myself. Thanks in advance!

what kind of pipes are you running...if not stock then it may be the stock pipes had a stop for the stand to not bounce..in which case you can fab one...

my 900 has a 4 into 1 header...

so my buddy sent me one of the ones he had special made to go on the inside of the passenger peg bolts

The LTD's from that era did not come with a center stand. The stock Jardine pipes were never set up to run with one. Your best bet is to just keep the stand in the garage and use it when you want to do any service work on the bike.

go to the hardware store and get some aluminum bar stock or something similar. drill a hole in one side and half moon on the other. just like int he pick above. paint it black. you will have to bend it to fit. put it on a vise or something. ive got mine mounted on the right side on the inside of the exhaust mount and you cant even see it.

This one is on my '75 with a 4-1 Kerker. It's not as purdy as the one Trianglelaguna has but it works well.

Might also consider expanding bracket to this area for less risk of loosening and getting out of position while riding.

Good Fortune! :)
