Front end feels uneasy kz750-n2 was created by comppro2k7
i have an 83 kz750-n2 specrte and when i get above 40-45 mph at a steady speed the bike feels extremely uneasy in the front end, there's no wobble, vibration or anything of that nature, just a feeling like the front wheels is just barely on the road or something, and when u ride over any slightly variation in the road surface it feels like im gonna lose control of the bike. ive raised the front wheel up, checked for slack in forks or in steering bearings and is tight, but when i spin the wheel by hand than tap the brake the whole front forks shake, but other than that, it feels extremely tight. i have new front tire, new wheel bearings new fork oil but same problem, any ideas ?

have you checked to see if your steering stems bearings are set right/almost tight...should flop when put centered with the front wheel up....ect...

when you are on a not busy street have you tried doing a hard front only stop?? while peeking around at the front end

have you peeked over the bars when running at say 45-50 to see where the front is tracking/pointed??

do you know the front p.s.i that you normaly run...does going up or down a few psi help/hurt...are your brake pads shot...or glazed over....is there any weird stereaking or dark spots on the front rotors...

front tire psi, ive tried stock, over under, every possibility. brake bards are new, no glazing, rotors are clean, no streaks, etc. ill try that front brake test tomorrow and will update. With the front wheel up, its doesnt flop over, but it feels even from side to side, no center flat spot, ill check the tightness as well.

should not make such a big problem/ change...but...some tires have an arrow for front tire direction to mount and another arrow for if the same tire will be rear mounted????

each arrow will say front...or say rear...

maybe it's time for some fork springs or time to add a 1 " piece of 3/4 -7/8 p.v.c on top of a fender washer and squish the fork spring down to give some preload...change the fork oil while you got em open...spectre had air caps right??

maybe the front forks are just used up a tad????

maybe you got a bad tire...has it always felt this way...did it appear after a tire change ect

You know, I don't know why it is, but when the front end feels wierd... it's usually the rear end thats causing it - and visa-versa. Check the swing arm bearings for play (not foreplay), the rear tire and the condition of rear shocks.

Good luck...

"when i spin the wheel by hand than tap the brake the whole front forks shake"....

View from above, spin the wheel, rim & brake rotor straight, not warped...

Only when hitting brake this occurs?... Brake piston stuck open, pads grabbing/rubbing....

rotors look straight and true, doesn't do it only when hitting brakes, only really noticeable when going a even speed above 40 mph.
