Spec-ing out new, wider rims -- Stock 76 KZ900

Folks, looking to purchase new rims & want wider than the 1.85 front & 2.15 rear... BUT I do not want to change the bike's swing arm (stock & looks great).

Thought was 2.15 front & 2.75 aluminum Sun rims from Buchanan.

Question: Am I on crack -- will this work & are there any resources for folks that do not want to change their swing arms (just have not found)?

Please, any feedback welcome!

Thanks in advanced
Phil

I'm sure that others who are more experienced will chime in on this, but in my experience, you will have a tough time. If you plan on sticking with the 18" rear, the swingarm is so narrow that the stock tires are already close. It seems that I checked tire widths and a 130mm is about as wide as it gets. If you switch to a 16" rear you might be able to go slightly wider since you are in the wider part of the taper with the sidewalls.

Does anyone have tried & true fittment? With the lacing & such, there's really now testing rims or tire sizes. And what does this mean concerning the from wheel (rear @ 16 & front goes from 19 to 18 -- don't think there are 17s for this).

i had a stock 19x 2.15 front KZ rim on my 76. it is a tight fit.the hard part is getting the fender on , but it works.i still have the rim for sale if interested.it has a new 110 Metzler on it.
i had a 18", 130 on the back , with the stock rim. seems to me i had a 140 on way back in the 80's but i cant say for sure.
