GPZ550 fork lenght
24 Feb 2010 16:08
I don't have access to my bike, gpz550 1983, and tried the search but couldn't find it. I am looking for the lenght from center of axel to top of triple clamp.
Looking into a fork swap.
Thanks Jim

My 1983 GPZ with near zero weight on the fork. From c/l of axle to top of top triple tree is 32". Hope that helps.

Thanks, the forks I am looking at are 31" with 17" rims.
Intially it looks like 2" off the ride height at the front but the 120 front will bring back some of that height when leaned over.
I may need to look at a stepped top triple clamp.

Also, the GPZ550's had pretty soft springs so they sagged a lot. With stiffer springs, you regain a lot of ride height.
