kz1000 ltd exhaust was created by kz10cubed
I have a 1978 Kz1000 LTD. I was told the exhaust was original to the bike. When I look at the Kawasaki website under parts, my exhaust looks like the one pictured. However I have seen exhaust systems listed on Ebay which are said to be original which have a cross-over tube on the bottom. Did they make different exhaust systems for the same year? I beleive the later model LTDs had the cross-over tube. Would the later model exhaust systems (LTD) fit my 1978? Thank Kirby

1974 900 Z1 modified to look like a LTD , some engine mods. But I still have all the original parts.
1977 1000 project bike
1972 H1 project bike
If pro is opposite of con, then what is the opposite of progress?

Kirby,
I have owned 4 900 and 1000 LTD's and two of them from the dealers showroom floor, and none off them had that cross over pipe. I've seen that one ebay. It's off either a standard model or a newer LTD ( 1981 or newer ).
So most likely yours is a factory one . Made by Jardine.

Kirby:
No B models (LTD z900 - 1000) 1976-1980 came with cross-over pipes as a standard item. All B models came with Jardine headers (4 into 2)...no exception. There were, however, aftermarket pipes made that were cross-over. Perhaps what you are seeing are the standard pipes for the SR650...these were cross-over pipes... but will not work on your LTD.
