hey guys is their anyone out there running 50mmm forks on their z1,kz900 or kz1000? i have 50mm r1 forks on my kz750 and had no problem with a the forks hitting the tank on the left turn but on my z1 when the forks are turned to the left the forks hit off the tank with little or no turning radius, im thinkin of denting the tank iv seen it before but im wondering does anyone have any pics of one done all ready?

KZ900 with ZX636 forks @ 52mm... (outer tubes 10" width)

To keep to the Stock turn radius and not hit the tank, had to relocate the tank mounts, tank, seat hinges and tail section back an inch....

or you can get... or make a set of triple trees that have an inch more offset...(more like the stock ones do)
and leave the tank seat ect where they are;-)

thanks o.m.rock and irish.w problem is the frame has already been welded and painted and im all in money wise, this is one of the few things i over looked, im kicking myself that iv left myself in this pickle but i took a 50mm pipe and a hammer tonight and iv fixed the problem, it looks good, doesnt take to much away from the lines of the tank, im goin to post a build thread soon so keep an eye open.
p.s so how irish are you irish will?

New trees won't have any affect on the frame work. Expensive but they are the best option IMO.

I thought Irish had some clams made up already or am I remembering that thread wrong..:unsure:

last time i talked to him he had a few sets done and they are a super nice piece. seen them in person that man can sure whittle aluminium.

well i bit the bullet and welded a painted frame and did both, iv moved the tank stops back 1/2 inch and did a tank mod and all is good now,i hope....:unsure:
