I was thinking of getting the forks off a latter model KZ1000P bike.
I like the look of the tires the same size front and rear.
But the KZ1100 has a leading axle will that creat a handling problem?

I removed the forks from, what was a 1981 1000 CSR and installed a set of forks from a GPz just because of the handling. The leading axle was very stable in the straight highway ride but made the bike handle like a truck in the turns. Once I installed the standard forks the bike handled much better in the turns. I will be doing the same thing to my KZ1300. I plan on installing a set of forks from a ZG1200 to get rid of the leading axle.

It is not a waterproof unit so I try not to. But I have a few times and I would put it into a Ziplock bag when I do. You do not loose any functionality in the bag and the unit is much cheaper than one designed for bikes. I can buy a lot of Ziplock bags for the $250 that I saved over the Motorcycle specific one.
