Thoughts on 86 GSXR750 Front Rear Swap was created by Kawickrice
My brother just bought an 86 GSXR750 parts bike. He will be using the airbox and carbs for his project GSXR. My question is Would the front and rear suspension be an upgrade to the KZ's or are the parts old and antiquated like the KZ's. I could probably get the parts cheap but I dont know if its worth the hassle. Any and all input please. I know there are newer parts but these parts are there now and cheap

The front end could be an upgrade since it will be lighter and have better brakes. If you swap it over, you probably block off the anti-dive braking system. You can use the rear too but don't expect to go mono-shock with it as it will be more difficult than an ordinary mono-shock setup due to the linkage design. You can weld on shock mounts and use your original twin shocks like I did on my 1000. Again, the benefit will be shaving some weight.
