Well you were right about the PO the carbs leak like a stuck pig. How hard are they to rebuild? Where should I get the rebuild kits from? I want to give up, but i'm so pissed off that i'm going to see this through.

They're easy. The same thing is done four times for a lot of stuff. Most parts only go back on one way. The job is easier if you have a good clean work area & use 4 containers to store the parts from each carb. Use good fitting tools - don't bugger the brass parts.

The complete dissassembly is preferable so that the carb bodies can be soaked in a carb cleaner bath or boiled in lemon-juice/water (or however you decide to do them). Submersion is preferable so that the various orifices are sure to be cleaned/unclogged.

Welcome and your at the right place for sure! In answer to some of your questions here are some answers...

Vacuum diagram for carbs

Fuel fitting in carb is pressed in and comes loose over time. You can JB weld it back in or (I forget sizes) tap it and screw in 90* fitting with yellow tape.

Taking apart carbs and cleaning and adjusting is not hard. Keep parts separated and take your time. By all means you need to get a Factory Service Manual!

As far as rebuilding petcock, all you need is a diaphram kit from Kawasaki ($12), Still available and much better than after market kits! Feel free to ask any more questions you have as thats why we are here!

I bought the pingal pet and adapter plate mounts right up after reaming the tank . My hardwhare store gave me a bit that went in a drill all I had to buy was the lube lol .
dont remember what the bit was called but had alot of fine swirls on it and chewed right threw my tank no sparks!

dont forget to kill the gas tho or your ride will be flooded B)
