to rechrome or buy new? wheels

Well hunting season is about over so now im ready to work on the bike. i want to redo my wheels. I definetly want to keep the chrome wheels and spokes. they are looking rough do to years of sitting. do you guys think i should get my old rims rechomed and buy new spokes or buy brand new wheels and stainless spokes from someplace?

how bad are they?

well the wires are pretty much shot. there is rust on about a quarter of all the spokes. on the bottom side of the wheel when the bike was sitting for a long time. so either way i need new spokes. what im wondering though is i can get a brand new repro set of chrome rims from Z1 for about 170$. i havent checked what a rechrome will cost. probally about the same. i guess it comes down to personal preference then. do you want the original or repro, right?
