Could anyone I.D. this gas tank?

It has a vacum petcock. The petcock bolts on instead of screwing on.

I am thinking that is like the one on my 1976 KZ900. I was ass-uming that mine was original to my bike?
1980 KZ1000 LTD-B4(MK II engine) - Progressive suspension, MTC pistons, Dynojet Stage III, all wear items replaced, WFO paint scheme(1978), etc..

Past bikes- 2 1976 Kz900's, 5 1975-76 Honda CB750's, Honda 500 -4, Honda 250, Honda 125, Honda 100, Suzuki RM 250, Honda XL350, Kawasaki KLR 650, etc..

Bolt-on petcocks started on 1978 year model A2's...but the petcocks were gravity feed...so I'm guessing the petcock is newer.

It has got me bum fuzzled. I just have never seen a bolt on petcock newer thatn "81".

yep looks like 78 a2 to me also,before and after that was mostly thread on versions.i prefer the bigger tanks myself,these bikes are hard to push when ya run out of gas! :laugh:

heres a csr style tank B) notice shape of tank and petcock location for cv style carbs .differant than roys B)

heres a 77 style tank,pretty much same as 78 but has threaded on instead of bolt on petcock like 78

That is the same as this tank on my bike I guess as this one has the same petcock.
