Keys, Keys, Keys !!! was created by dshelly
Hi all,
Just pick up a '76 900Ltd . (New Project) However, somewhere down the line, someone put in a new EMGO Ignition switch, and.......they also changed the seat lock,and....... the steering lock . So now I have a key for the ignition, and 1 for the seat , and none for the Steering lock. This drives me nuts.
So does anyone know if you can re-key the seat and steering lock to the one from the Emgo switch. Or do I need to search for a matching set of all three? I have seen sets for the Z1's but those won't work in this bike. Any ideas? :)

I had a problem similar to that when I lost my keys I took the lock off and took it to the locksmith and he cut a key from just the number but he could also repin the seat lock and it wasn't expensive if you brought it in to him to do. So that is your option. Not a big deal.

I have the same problem with my Z1. previous owner changed the ign. Now one key for ign. and another (original)key for seat and steering lock. I called several locksmiths and none could help. So if anyone knows a locksmith that can help me please pass info along

Not woried about the gas cap. You can open that with a screwdriver. No tumblers in there.

You guys sure you can re-key the Oem locks with the EMGO Key? The Key for the Emgo switch is cut totally different. But I'll run it down to the locksmith just to be sure.

The EMGO is different. There are (i think) 6 pins versus 4 for the seat lock. My locksmith had trouble getting into the seat lock, so he made a key that was a combination of both.
