Tapered Neck bearing ? need answer asap

Although I installed these bearings before I am cunfused a little.The bottom race when installed ,does it sit flush with the bottom of the steering neck( as shown) or do I seat it all the in. Or do I have the wrong bearing kit.

Normally, you would drive it all the way in til it seats on the inner ridge. But if you suspect the bearing will sit in too far, you may want to assemble it loosely, as is, to see if the yoke will interfere with the frame. If it does, there is a chance you have the wrong kit somehow.

You'll want to check before you drive it. Once the gap is closed up, you can't get a drift in there to hammer the race out. It's a bitch to get out after that. You have to dremel it out, or weld something to it to hammer on.

drive it in all the way that's why that step is there if you dont it will pull itself together when you install the trees and you will end up crushing the bearings from the presssure it takes to pull them together.

Repeating what others have said, the tapered bearing race needs to be driven all the way into the seat. After doing this, I believe the remaining space on the small end of the race is for the grease seal to fit into. The tapered roller bearings are nice. Enjoy !
