1983 LTD C-4... sprocket questions.....

Hello there guys, This is my first post... I have owned many ZX's in the past but this is my first KZ!... I bought this bike broken... org owner put on a new chain, did not get the masterlink set correctly and the chain came un done @ 5-10mph.... cracking the gear cover under the front sprocket, shearing the clutch pushrod and bending the shift shaft...

I have all that fixed now... and put the same chain back on, as a temp only.... it runs great... I just dont trust the org setup and want to buy all new.... It has a 16 tooth front, and a 36 tooth rear... 530 chain @ 100 links.... Question is... Is there a place i can find another 36 tooth rear as all i seem to be able to find is 38-42???... also, will i notice that much of a difference if i just replace it with a 38 tooth?..... I am wanting to replace the front as well..... is there a certain combo that i should be looking for.... the gearing always confuses me!...:blink: . I like the way it is now with the 16/36 how would i work it out to have the same gearing if i had to do to a 38 or so rear?...

Warchild, you didn't tell us for what machine we are talking about it sounds like a 550cc but could be other model.If you have a 550 16/40 is original size sprocket I believe, Z-1 enterprises should be able to help you,or send you in right direction. and welcome to KZR nation.the invasion continues regards Duke
