any of the superbike bars are great and you just can't go wrong there...they will be a tad lower than your stock bars and you gotta re-route some throttle and controls stuff to take up the slack...but they are the answer and for 30-40 bucks give the bike a whole new feel and look....there are wider versions of the standard superbike bend that kinda look like flatrack/superbike bars and they can be pretty cool too.. i always do new grips for the whole new feel and a great option is knurled anodized bar end wheights...any make...e-bay sells em cheap with good finishes in lots a colors or black...they cut vibration ,balance out the steering some, look awesome, get comments all the time, protect the bike some in tight spots, and, tip overs in the driveway are way easier on the bike with em....as for the bars..look for a site that shows em all next to each other and find the the ones that are measured to be a longer/wider than the standard superbike versionor just do what most folks do and run superbikes standard.....the more expensive k&n brand bars finishes weather way better and are much stronger than no name brands....good luck

depending on your riding style and what look you want the sky is the limit i prefer superbike bars but i'm also thinking about going with a dirt bike motocross type bar as well OMR's bike looks awesome with his and he says it feels good to ride like that check his out it looks awesome and with those bars you get more leverage and you sit up straighter as well.

Bought this KZ750ltd about a year ago (more than) but haven't done a great deal with it yet.

It does have black braced dirt bike bars and the riding position is great. I am going to restore the bike just a little but I will keep the bars as they are.

After my accident I had the chance to replace bent bars with anything but stuck with stock as that's the way I'm keeping bike. I like the up right seating posistion too. I'm too old to bend over any more! :woohoo:

Do not get bars that put unnatural bends in your wrists. Hold your hands out...see the most comfortable position is grip 90 degrees from your wrist? That will give you most comfort and ride-ability.

Sitting too upright will compress your spine and tear your butt up. Too far leaned forward and you will get fatigued from holding your self up at slow speeds and a backache. A seating position with about 50% weight distributed onto your thighs will help at both slow and highway speeds.

GLuck!

Mike's XS650 handlebar page shows what various bars look like on the vintage Yamahas. MikesXS.net - handlebar page

FYI: he's got a good selection of shocks that're supposed to be a direct bolt-on to the KZ650.

I prefer clubman's. You can set them up as intended or flip them over for a lower more upright position. I like the clubmans because of the sporty look and I prefer the riding position at higher speeds, especially if you are not running a windshield. They allow you to tuck in behind the stock guages. Superbike bars are cool too.

I usally stick to superbike bars on mmy bigger bikes like my KZ 1000.

Any one got any pics of the clubmans mounted upside down?
Ive also been contemplating new bars, and thought this might be nice, and not quite as aggressive as normal clubmans, or clip ons.
Thanks

All my big trips I used superbike bars and could always do 700-800 miles a day and not be too worn out. Now that my trips are done stock is the way to go. I'd say less than 300 miles a day I'd prefer stock. Long highway rides superbike. Looks is all in the eye of the beholder as always, to me either looks fine.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.
