thx thompson. so do you think i might be able to put some of the longer upside down forks to make up some clearance?i dont know what type sizes the newer shocks come in.(length wise)

Well Rob my 91 zx7 forks are 28.75 inches from axle center and to the top. I believe there is an early gsxr upside down fork that is pretty close to stock length. I believe they are from an 1100. You may do a search on here. Glad i can help.
