77 kz1000 fork innerd question was created by donthekawguy
I read a ton of posts about the home made fork tools that people are making. I tried for a couple of hours the wood dowel method and couldn't get it to loosen up. Now I have to make the tool. My question is, does anyone know what size bolt head I need to get for the 77-78 forks? I would hate to have to make three or four tools to figure it out.

thats what I'm looking for. I'll be off to the hardware store in the morning. My compressor took a dump on me so I have to try to get the bolt out with a ratchet. Thanx!

Well I got the tool made but of course forgot to take a pic. I took a 2 inch long bolt with a 17mm head and welded it into a 2 foot long tube. Then I took a foot long peice and welded that across the top for a handle. I'll try it out this week. My ex brother in law is a fabricator and said he would build a bunch if people want to pay for them.
