Alright guys how it going. Just picked up a 1977 kz1000 ltd last saturday and have been riding it everyday since. Ive got big plans for it or should i sau dreams lol. Anyways my first issue is id like to lower the bike. I understand that the springs in the back can be swapped out but does anyone know where i can get a 11 inch spring for a reasonable price. Aslo i under stand there is a few ways to lower the front of the bike either by swapping the forks or loosing the trees and bringing the bars up. ive looked and i like the look of the bars through the trees but i cant find a set of handle bars to let me get 2 inchs or more of drop. any ideas hit me up. thansk
Eric

Just an idea ... Vulcan 500 shocks are about 11.5" eye-to-eye & are a direct bolt-on for the KZ550 & KZ650. They may fit the 1000 as well - don't know. And I don't know if they'll be stiff enough for your bike. Maybe Andy the Gringo will chime in.

ive had good luck using kz650 forklegs on 900-1000s theyre about 3/4" shorter than the others so you dont have to shove them above the top tree so much B)

Daniel's on Route 1 in Elkridge MD is a super bike bar. Lots of Harleys, but also a wide variety of other makes. Ed

I am also looking for a bar to help lower the front. I had drag bars on my last bike and they didn't give enough room for a decent drop. I was thinking about clip-ons, as they would allow as much room as you want.
