help with forks on 82 gpz750. bolt spinning was created by hipsterdufus
i pulled the forks and got one done pretty easily, but the second one is giving me trouble. im trying to remove the bolt that goes up into the inner damper. all it does is spin inside the leg and i didnt bother to check what size nut (if there is one) at the bottom.

i might have enough extensions to make it happen

Many times you can hit the bottom bolt with an air impact wrench and it will spin free. Since you have one of the legs apart, you'll note the shape of the top bolt of the inner cylinder...it is that bolt you have to stop from spinning in order to loosen the lower bolt. If the air impact doesn't work, you need to find the correct tool to to do so or fabricate the correct tool...and remove the lower bolt manually. Your shop manual should give you the general idea how to do this.

Usually, you can jam a wooden dowel or something into the fork to keep it from spinning. I carved the end of an old rake handle into the shape of a cone using a power miter saw. Then I tap tap tapped it into place & unscrewed the allen bolt.

Or, if the head of the inner cylinder looks like a 12-pt 19mm socket, there are several ways to use a bolt setup as the tool, with the bolt head fitted into the head of the inner cylinder. I now use a left-hand-threaded nut/bolt/ratchet-extension setup (a 1/2" bolt has a 3/4" head which is ~19mm).
