81' KZ1100 Gas Tank?

i need a gas tank for an 81' KZ1100 shaft,i know the ltd tank is smaller
but will it work on the 1100,does anyone know:unsure:

I don't think your seat will work with that one. The shape of the tank and how the seat marries up with it is different. There may be other guys on here who would be able to tell you more.

Mine is an LTD and it seems like I see seats and tanks for A and B models on Ebay pretty often.

you are probally correct,because the tank looks a lot smaller on the ltd than the kz,i would probally have to change the seat also

My "77" has a newer gas tank. I don't know what it came off of. It has a vacum petcock. Matches the seat good. Roy

They made 2 tanks a 3.5 and a 5 gallon I have both for my 78 KZ 1000 LTD will they fit can't tell... Nice Bike above Roy B ......Give the man that seat bro.:woohoo:

Tedster...to answer your question, the LTD/CSR tanks (K/M) are not a direct 'drop-on' replacement for your KZ1100A tank. As you suspected, they are different volumes (K/M vs the A model)). They are also different lengths and they attach to the frame differently...your 1100 tank has a bung on the end tab while the others attach with a bolt...and has been pointed out, different size tanks affect the seat attachment and how it looks.
