Looking for side panel or knowledge!

Hello, first time user here. I am looking for some help in locating a side panel for a 1982 KZ305D. It says LTD 305 on the side panel emblem. I currently have the left one and a photo of it can be seen here. I need the right one. The purple color would be awesome but any color will do. Alternatively I am looking for knowledge from someone to find out if there is any other model of bike that a side panel will fit this one and then that panel be available for purchase. HELP!!

Thanks for the well wishes. I haven't had much luck tracking one of these things down. Sadly the one from the bike is probably on the shelf in the previous owner's garage waiting to be tossed.

I just ordered the exact panel I need from Ebay from a guy in Nova Scotia Canada. I had been looking to no avail until today. This site brought me good luck! Thanks KZR!

That's great! Now make sure you don't lose one on the road. Get new grommets from Z1 Enterprizes and then wire them on like this.





A very bad feeling is looking at your bike after a 20 mile ride and seeing a side cover is gone.

The reason I have lost touch with the previous owner is that he died! I bought the bike from his widow, I think there is a joke there somewhere! Anyway she knew nothing about the side panel, just wanted the bike gone to have one less thing to remind her of him.

Thanks for the tip on keeping the side panels on the bike. I may do this to retain them if the pegs are open on the back side, that didn't sound right but I think you get my meaning. :laugh:

Thanks for the welcome. Alberta born and bred. Lacombe area all my life except for one year in Wetaskiwin anyways! Sorry did my red neck show there? The little 305 belongs to the bride. My ride is much newer, it is an '84 Magna V45 and am working on a '86 Fazer reconstruct after it hit the ditch avoiding a deer. Bought it from a guy that after gathering parts for 12 years gave it up. Truth is I think that his 4 kids he has now are approaching riding age and he doesn't want to buy 4 more bikes. Easier to sell the one. :laugh: As you can tell I support all import brands. First Kawi I have owned, seems like a nice little ride. Surprisingly it will haul me at 70 mph and I'm not a little guy.
