I have a 1980 LTD. Did a center stand come with this bike stock? I looked at the parts diagram and don't see it listed. Can a guy use one from a kz1000 and make it work ok? I looked at my frame and it looks like the bracket for it is there.

Let me clarify this...the KZ1000B models (LTD's) didn't come with a center stand, but there is a bracket for them on the frame. I believe the issue was the style of pipes (Jardines) that originally came on the bike. The aftermarket 4into1 pipes may allow the installation of the center stand.

I am putting stock exhaust on this bike. So a center stand will not work?

Should work where centerstand is desired to expedite maintenance duties and repairs. Many of us keep a centerstand available for temporary installation (used for maintenance and repairs, but not for riding).

With a 4>1 exhaust system, an exposed centerstand on the bike's left-hand side is consided by some folks as being unsightly.

Rigging it for application on an LTD with the stock 4>2 exhaust system may locate it so low as to reduce ground clearance excessively.

Good Luck! :)
