ok.
i need to lower the rear of my 1978 kz650.
i have cut some foam out of the seat still not enough
i have lowered a couple of sport bikes but this is new to me
i have heard you can put hd sportster shocks on them? not sure maybe you guys can help alittle any info would be awesome

You could wear High Heals.:laugh: .:laugh: Seriously I dont know how, I would think the same, if you could put shorter shocks on and make sure you dont bottom out on the tire and your chain adjusted to artickulate for proper rotation under changed movement. Or change tire/rim size. High heals sounds easier.:dry:

have you tried adjusting the preload on rear shocks to softer setting? B)

According to another KZRer, Vulcan 500 shocks are a direct bolt-on. They're about 11.5" eye-to-eye.

Sportster hugger or lowering shocks might work. You'd have to swap out the bushings & spread open the lower shock mount on the bike or grind down the Sportys about 4mm or so. They might rub against the chain guard.

Mikes XS650 might have something that's a direct bolt-on.

lol...ok i am not sure i would look good in high heels..or that my wife will like that idea..
they are adjusted to the softest setting..
i have heard vulcan 500 shocks would fit..thanks for all the info guys
