I have a 77 1000, non ltd, with a 16 inch wire wheel. I toasted the caliper and replaced it with an identical one frm a 78 Z1r. However, something isnt right. The caliper is fully open, and I have a huge gap on the inside of the brake pad and the outside is rubbing! Is there a small spacer between the caliper and the larger machined spacer that goes against the wheels? I got the bike this way and havent riden it due to this issue.

Thanks all

You get into spacing issues when you mix and try to match diffrent calipers and wheels.

You will have to make you a spacer to get everything in line.

Even the calipers are diffrent widths where they fit on the axle. I have some cast calipers that are in storage because i replaced them with Alunimun and i had to go through my axle spacers to line them up.

The A model came with a 18 inch spoke wheel. I know the calipers are different for the ltd and standard.
