Extended GS arm was created by jaycaffee
Can anybody tell me where I can find some good pics of GS arm's that have been extended? I'm thinking about streching one for my 77 KZ 1000 project and would like to get some Ideas and check out how to brace it. Yes, I do have a highly qualifed tig welder lined up. Thanks for any help and/or advice.

the gs arms from early 80s are kind of odd ball as far as the tubing goes, might be a little hard to match up.the newer sportbike arms are really easy to come by and are easily extended B)

It's odd alright. Is there a particular arm that fits a 77 1000a better than another? ZX?

i think alot of it depends on what you plan on using for the rear wheel also. are you going with a fat tire?

I've been thinking about a new swing arm this year also. A GS? A ZRX? If money were no issue I think I would go with a after market, direct bolt on like the German made arm American Classix is selling or a JMC arm at swingarm.com and there are other company's like trac dynamics or Mcintosh selling aftermarket arms that are direct bolt on, some extended and some braced. Prices are from $750 to well over a grand. Ouch!!!

In a perfect world I would have a 5.5" Slick, but I at least want something close, but no huge wide tire. I'm really a noob at this (as if you couldnt tell) and thought the width of the GS arm would handle it. I'm on a really tight budget, hence wanting to stretch the GS arm, but its an odd beast. I would like to find something that fits atleast as good as the GS arm, or if anybody has any good drawings, I could just build what I want. The whole point of this project is to have a nice 1/8th mile bracket bike.
Thanks again!!
