loose front caliper was created by Davestradamus
my front brake caliper feels loose. it has a tiny bit of play from side to side, is this normal? i have tried tightening all the visible bolts/screws to no avail. HELP! i do not want my caliper to fly off leaving me in a guardrail or something.

thanks!

if your pads are thick it should not flop around...if your pads are ready for a replace,,,,it still should not flop around but rather ,be weak and squeeky even.....your caliper works by sliding two halfs towrards each other...one is fixed to the fork leg and the other moves on the slide bolts or carrier blots...which by the way need greasing when the brake is serviced.....the only thing i can think of is that your pads have enough to allow excessive sliding of the one half under brake onset.......does this help at all......by the way ,i know very little ,so wait for a second answer....
