ok I have pretty much everything to convert over my 78 kz1000 with a gs1100e swingarm but before I do will I be able to use my original swingarm axel or will I have to get one for the gs1100e? I can't find one anyway. Are there other axels that will work? Thanks

I use the axle from a KZ/ZN1300 on mine. It fits perfectly, direct drop-in. The stock 1000 axle is too short. You will also have to get spacers to take up any extra gap on the wheel and also spacers for the pivot bolt. You will also have to use the torque link from a GS1100.

77 KZ-1000A stock
78 Z1-R 100%MINT 500 original Mi.
78 Z1-R Yoshi 1103 kit stage 1 cams Yoshi pipe. Etc

ok so the zn1300 axel is the same as the gs1100.I am going to be using a 4.5" gsxr rim, I will start looking for that axel and then change bearings/spacers as needed. Thanks again

There are a bunch of places that have gs1100e axles. Do a search on one of those sites that hooks you up with a nationwide parts search. You will have at least 5 responces the next day. Like this one-
www.mrcycleparts.com/

Rathdrum Idaho
1971 Kawasaki g3ss
1972 Yamaha R5 350
1965 Suzuki Hillbilly
