I once used solder as chewing gum, not very minty.

We do HVAC as well with a little company called Honeywell.

We dont solder anything up here in the way of ducting,it is all designed to fit, sometimes we have neoperene (sp?) gaskets on weird angles... but maybe thats why its so cold.......

Are these for any fluids aside from air?

no dude just air, its Heat and AC thats all. I know the medigas guy does a load of welding, probably more like the stuff you are working on.

Air is a fluid. :)

That would explain why you might not ever see soldering though if you aren't working with liquids.

If it's a gas company and they work on anything with liquid transfer there might be soldering involved.

Huh?
Please elaborate.

Contrary to popular opinion, fluid does not mean liquid, for instance, the study of airflow is covered in fluid dynamics :)

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fluid_dynamics
A subset of the phases of matter, fluids include liquids, gases, plasmas and, to some extent, plastic solids.

:woohoo: what the h@%! is this! are you a rocket scientist who works on old (but very very cool) motorcycels?
Sorry just felt a lital stupid reading about the coefficents of air:laugh:

No, but I kinda have an unfair advantage, I have a reading speed of approx 800 words per minute (not speed reading either, that's cheating), with better than 90% comprehension, and I have read thousands of books. You ought to see me fly through multple choice tests

One specific fluid that they didn't mention which has different properties.... glass.

Also, granulated solids that are in certain given situations considered fluids... snow, sand, etc. in a slide.

I love the talks that end up being about science and/or mathematics.

It's actually sad how poorly the US school systems tend to be at teaching science when it comes to fluid dynamics, aerodynamics, etc. cause once you get te basic gist of it it's pretty easy and you spend a lot of time going "ahhhh... I always knew that but didn't know how to explain it."

Once thing I wish my school had in high school was classes that talked about chaos theory mathematics. Talk about interesting stuff!!!

Are they still teaching that glass flows (not in it's molten state)? I hope not, that urban myth was disproven years ago :)

And please don't tell me they are still talking about a bridge (I think it was in Washington) that was supposedly caused to collapse by vibration. I realize that there are still a lot of urban myths in textbooks, I wonder if they will ever correct them.
