1982 gpz1100 vin location on frame?

Can anyone tell me were to find vin on 1982 gpz1100 on the frame? There is not one on the neck??

Someone must know?

Sometimes the neck located info is lost incident to powder coating.

It should be right below the steering head on the left side.

This is all I can find. "made in japan khi"

Perhaps a damaged frame was replaced with a new replacement frame.

For example, checking with kawasaki.com gives the part number for a replacement frame, which is no longer available from the factory.

But when it was available, I believe it would have arrived without a vin number.

Yes. after doing a little research on the net, i think it is a Kawasaki replacement frame. but they did not re stamp it!!! i guess i will have to get it stamped??Also is there anyone repoping the stickers??

The Certificate of Title, tag registration, or other ownership papers, may include the original vin if needed to stamp into the frame.

Each state is different when numbering replacement frames and cases...and each state has a different numbering series. It may be difficult to get your state to reissue a number that has already been issued (the original frame VIN...you are going to need proof that the original frame was destroyed)...do you have the title? In rare circumstances, when the original frame VIN is destroyed, and not reissued, the state will use the motor VIN as the registered VIN (ordinarily it is not recorded). There is a fellow who visits the Z1/Z900 owners group on Multiply.com who claims to be able to repro the head stickers but he may be a bit 'fringe' as I've not been able to see any results.

Thanks for the help/replies. i was so excited to get this bike I never looked at the frame numbers until I got home!! i have the ownership papers and should have no problem getting them transfered to me.
