Chain guard clearance question

I just installed my new progressive 12 series shocks. Very nice.
The issue I have is that the bottom of the shock is larger in diameter than the stock ones and it's pushing the plastic chain guard against the chain. The indent in the chain guard needs to be lower to accommodate. How have any of you who have had this issue dealt with it?
