Master cylinder question??? was created by Born Dead 2
When using dual disc brakes, is there really a difference in using a 5/8" bore m/c over a 1/2" bore? Just wondering if anyone knows if a 1/2" bore will work without any issues.
Thanks in advance

when using a 1/2" bore master on daul disc set-up you won't get the proper feel and the the brakes can feel mushy and not have as much stopping power, the oppisite is true when you use a 5/8" bore master on a single disc it can cause overly sensitive braking and would be easier to lock up. your better off just getting the right one for the job. be safe it's not worth trying to reinvent the wheel.

My understanding is when going with duals on the front, to allways go with the larger bore. The smaller bore can and will lock up the brakes.

I added a second disc to my front end and kept the stock (1/2"?) master cylinder. It has worked well for 10 years now. It might be a little mussy but it works.
