Wheel Size

Was wondering if anyone has downsized from a 18in wheel to a 16in wheel on a late '70s kz1000 and what changes they noticed. I think the LTD came with a 16in wheel stock.

I went to a 16in. several yrs ago and it lowered my gearing somewhat but it did get my feet on the ground

1974 Z1 with a MKII And a 1105 big bore kit 10.5 to 1 comp. Andrews 2x cams ported head dyna s with green coils V&H sidewinder pipe airshifter 4in.over arm

Throws off speedometer accuracy (front wheel)

Lowers gear ratio (rear wheel)

Reduces ground clearance (either wheel)

I have never seen a 16in. wheel on the (front) of one of these bikes :huh: But what do I know :S

Sorry, should have been more specific...refering to rear wheel only. Curious about handling mostly.
