So, when I recently replaced my chain and sprockets, the front sprocket didn't have the 'holes' as illustrated in the Kawasaki parts diagram. So the lock washer/boltkeeper (ref 920221 and 32085 in the diagram) that keeps the bolt attaching the sprocket to the countershaft from loosening couldn't be used. Furthermore, my local Kawasaki dealer said that the lockwasher/boltkeeper was discontinued.

My question is what do I use to keep the bolt holding the sprocket on tight? It's right-hand-threaded, so motor output will tend to loosen the bolt. I had used red loctite, but when I was recently working on the engine, it was barely more than finger tight (scary!).

i just replaced ref 920221 and 32085 found on ebay uk,
and i would have ordered a different sprocket that had the hole,
my new one had them i just had to grind a couple of mm off the retainer so it would go through the whole.

If you want the RED Loctite # 222 to set up properly, you'll need to throughly remove all grease and oil from the parts. Spray on brake cleaner works well for this.

Now, to remove it,the part will have to be heated to about 350-400 F to loosen the grip(actually melts the Loctite)and using a wrench remove the part.
