Rear Shocks for my '78 KZ1000A2 was created by SpeedMK
I'm looking to replace the rear shocks on a 1978 KZ 1000A2 I just picked up. I weigh 195. Used to race so I will ride aggressively from time to time, but most of my riding will be just cruising around. Will throw the wife (115lbs) on the back once in a while.

What do you guys recommend for a good replacement set?

Thanks.

Progressive suspension has what you will need. They also have great customer service.

Speed, search Ebay if you've the time, S&w or Boge Mulhullen show up time to time. If pressed, go direct to Progressive Suspension. They're reasonable and I understand customer service is excellent. for a man of substance/riding double would rec. shocks w/primary/2ndary springs. IE buffered 2 springs per shock. many knock-offs avail. but no personal exp.luck g

I 2nd it. Progressive Suspension is the ticket. Tell them what you want, plug in the numbers and they will hook you up. ;)

Another really good option is Hagon shocks. I put a pair on my KZ650 a couple years ago and they're great. They are every bit as good as the S&W I had on it. They come in a bunch of different styles (mine are stainless steel). Dave Quinn (see link) will set yours up specifically for your riding style, weight, etc.
