Front wheel swap, from a 1974 to a 1977,what issue

Since i am going with a rear gsxr mag,figured i would slap a front mag on,will the speedo cable be the same,bike is at the shop and i dont feel like the drive to look.... mag is from a 77 1000 i think....
Watch it folks,i have sticky fingers when it comes to a nice looking set of handle bars:)

speedo drive should be the same
1973 z1 2-1974z1-a,2-1975z1-b dragbikes1015cc+1393cc, 1977kz1000,1978kz1000,1981kz1000j, 1997 zx-11, 2000 z12r,1428turbo nitrous pro-mod and a shit load of parts thats all for now leader sask.,CANADA

i'm sorry i gave you some bad info there they aren't the same also there are some differences in the brake systems between the two front ends.

Up to 1975 they used the 6 bolt brake discs (with the large hole in the center) 76 and later used the 4 bolt brake discs (small hole center).
The speedo drive is different also. I put a early 6 bolt wheel on my later 76 900 and I had to machine about 3 mm off the fork side of the speedo drive (to have the wheel centered in the forks). Everything else bolted up (I may have had to make a new wheel spacer for the other side of the front wheel, I dont remember).

+ if it was a straight bolt on what fun would that be,for me 80% of the fun is the strugle to make stuff work that isnt supposed to;) usually when i get it all straight and pretty i sell and start over,the wife says i need help:P :laugh:
