Sporty Shock Bushings
03 Jun 2009 19:29
I have a set of 11.5 sportster shocks coming, does anyone know if I have to swap the bushing between my stock shocks and the new ones? I have read conflicting posts. If I do need to swap out the bushings, is there a source for new ones, or do they only come with the shocks? Also would it be possible to make a steel bushing to make up the i.d. difference assuming the sportster shocks would have a larger i.d. bushing. They are going on my 82 1000K2. Thanks.

A company at
www.reidsupply.com
sells metric dry bearings.
They are steel backed, sintered bronze PTFE and lead lined bearings. You'll have to measure the I.D. and O.D. of the mounting bolts and shock mounting holes to be able to order the correct size.
