I've got Bridgestone Battlax's on my GPz750 and I love em. I'm coming up on 1.5k miles with them on and they show little wear and still have superb grip in the corners.
I swear to God, it's like I live in a trailer of common sense, and stare out the window at a tornado of stupidity.

Hard to say how many miles are on these...Havn't had a OD on it since the resurrection. Want to change that so I can be a bit more clinical in my maintenance. Not to mention have a speedo. CHP is on the prowel these days.

The Metzlers were always my go to brand.

Regardless will be nice having a arch on the rear profile again. These also may not grab the rain grooves as much as the Metzler pattern used these days.

I still have a red dot 130/18 on the shelf from back in the day... But it's been off the bike for several years since the stocker is a 120, the 130 was really close to touching the chain on the stock motor configuration. May just offer it up in the classifieds here. Will probably never use it.

I've had Kenda Challengers on my KZ1100 since I've had it - three years. They've been fine as far as I could tell but I don't have anything to compare them to.

I just noticed the back tread is getting a little thin, then noticed a nail in it. That made the decision to get new tires easy. I ordered a set of Pirelli Sport Demons but they're not here yet. I read good things about them elswhere. Does anyone here have experience with them?

Yes. This summer on my '77 KZ650C1 I replaced Michelin Macadam tires with Pirelli Sport Demons. The Michelins caused a speed wobble after a few thousand miles even though they looked ok. The Pirellis have better traction, particularly in braking, than the Macadams. I used a 100/90 V 19 on the front and 120/90 V 18 on the rear. These are the same tire sizes as the Macadams I replaced. I have put a little over 1,000 miles on the new tires, so I cannot give a long term opinion, but so far I really like them and they show no wear yet. I bought mine at Ron Ayers. Ed
