On another thread my masterlink popped off and we were discussing how to prevent it from occuring again. I wasn't quite thrilled with the idea of buying a 100 dollar tool just to swage a permanent link in.
So among the suggestions was Blackbanshee's of using safety wire to secure the master link.
I used .020" stainless safety wire, and did it like so:

If you do this, be sure to situate the wire like this so the pigtail is forced to roll into itself when affected by centrifugal force.
So now I'm off for a test ride....B)

glad it worked out for you.hopefully others can make use of it to.good tip on tail positioning there also.

I put black 3m adhesive on them, never lost one yet
